Haliimaile General Store takes its name from history, when it was once a pineapple plantation store on the slopes of Haleakala. Today it’s one of Maui’s best restaurants, owned by pioneering Hawaii chef Bev Gannon, and she has retained the building’s Old-Hawaii charm. Dishes range from Bev’s “famous” crab pizza to lobster and hearts of palm salad, coconut seafood curry, paniolo-style ribs, spicy Korean flank steak and grilled rack of lamb. Open for lunch and dinner. For a great Haliimaile souvenir, visit her online shop.
