Nature lovers visiting the Big Island’s Kona side will love the Amy Greenwell Ethnobotanical Garden. Located in Captain Cook, this hidden 15-acre gem features more than 200 species of endemic, indigenous and Polynesian-introduced plants traditional to Kona’s farms and native forests before the arrival of Westerners. Depending on the time of year, the native insect house may also be open to visitors.
